Community
Eureka community is a cozy place where teachers, children and their parents establish harmonious collaborative relationships. We value the uniqueness of each family and strive to get to know them from the very beginning. Home and school are important harbors for young explorers that encourage mutual connections, nurture a love for learning and teach them to interact in an empathetic and interdisciplinary way.
We provide consultations, training sessions and seminars on smart parenting. We encourage parents to get involved in education: we invite them to share their professions or participate in lessons. In 2020, for children who could not attend school, we offered a distance learning program called “Eureka at Home.” We also organize school community events and invite families to participate in community projects!
Initiatives
L'OCCITANE and School Eureka Friendship
The French retailer of body, face, hair, perfume and home products L’OCCITANE en Provence and the school Eureka have signed a cooperation agreement. For both L’OCCITANE and Eureka sustainability as well as the opportunity to contribute to the creation of a clean and green world is very important. Therefore, together with our partners, we are implementing an incentive system for Eureka employees who create the most interesting projects using secondary raw materials.
Kindness initiative to support the Children's Heart Association
During the initiative, the parents of the Eureka school and Erudito Lyceum donated money to a girl with a congenital heart defect who needs constant medical care. During the week’s kindness initiative, the Eureka and Erudito communities donated as much as 4345 EUR to the association “Vaiko širdis”. All the money reached the association and helped Roma Teresa, who has a severe heart defect, to ensure the realization of special needs, treatment and the purchase of medicines. Thank you community, for your kindness!
Eureka day: a day without a car
All Eureka branches hold special celebrations several times a year – Eureka Days. One of them is a car-free day. Together with the little explorers, we organize competitions with bicycles and scooters in the yard, while creating street elements we learn traffic safety rules. We invite families to use secondary raw materials to decorate children’s vehicles and at the end of the day we collect the most beautiful creations. In addition, families who joined the Eureka Day campaign and accompany their children to school on foot, bicycles, scooters or public transport are awarded Eureka diplomas.
Kindness initiative intended to support the association "Neisėšiotukas"
During the initiative, the Eureka school community donated 2,130 euros, for which the association was able to purchase not only a mixture preparation machine, but also the much-needed “Nurses”, which are a preventive measure for sudden infant death syndrome. The “Neišnešiotukas” association takes care of premature babies and their families. Both children and their parents can feel psychologically stronger and ready to overcome life’s challenges by having the necessary knowledge and tools to help reduce the risk of diseases and other hazards.
Eureka Day: Costume Day
Eureka Day is a day when all members of the Eureka community in Vilnius and Kaunas live in one rhythm. In October, we traditionally celebrate costume day. We dress up in costumes that reflect our personalities and present them to our classmates. Families are invited to celebrate the day by creating their own unique costumes using imagination, creativity and elements of sustainability. And of course – we reward with Eureka gifts the most inventive and creative participants who used secondary raw materials.
Kaziukas fair and support collected during it
Kaziukas Fair in Eureka is an annual event of fun, noise and bustle! The little ones sell their handicrafts, and the parents and the school community together donate to the chosen organization. On this holiday, everyone becomes friends, shares smiles and bright moments!
Eureka Community Pie Day
Every year on November 6th, Lithuania celebrates Pie Day. Eureka School brings the entire school community together for a cake-baking event! Parents bake cakes together with their children at home, document the cooking process and children present the projects to their classmates. At school, children create postcards for elderly people cared for by the “Order of Malta” organization. Eureka employees hand along these postcards together with cakes to the organization. Every year, the “Order of Malta” shares photos where we see grandparents who are smiling and sometimes even wiping away tears of happiness. We are happy that the Eureka community is touching so many lonely hearts with this initiative!
Cooperation with the publishing house "Nieko rimto"
Children’s and teenagers’ book publisher Nieko rimto and Eureka School sign a cooperation agreement. This agreement is very serious and construction-oriented. Not big brick houses… but small and cosy book houses. It is the book houses of the publishing house “Nieko rimto” that live in all Eureka branches. The school community, and especially the little explorers, have the opportunity to get to know the full range of the publisher’s books. And they are also among the first to get their hands on Nieko rimto’s new releases. In addition, the school hosts book launch events and other celebrations for book lovers.
