This may include music, yoga, gymnastics, karate, soccer, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics), theater, dance, robotics, ceramics, Yamaha music lessons, young naturalists club, and chess. Please note that non-formal education may vary in each branch of the school.

+
development of emotional intelligence

Emotional intelligence is an extremely important aspect in the context of child development and well-being. It is the ability to understand, manage and respond to one’s own and others’ feelings and emotions, so we believe that by developing this skill from an early age, it will be easier for children to deal with difficulties, better understand themselves and others, constructively resolve conflicts and successfully communicate with the world. Eureka integrates the Kimochi program, based on characters that help children understand and identify different feelings more easily. Also, in Eureka, we “measure” feelings by using the “Emometer”, and to calm down and focus, we perform mindfulness exercises.

+
speech therapist

In  Eureka children have the opportunity to explore the world through language, as it is one of their main modes of expression. However, some children may encounter difficulties in language development, which can hinder their ability to express their thoughts and feelings. To address this, we have enlisted the help of our excellent team of speech therapists, who, through games, songs, and other creative activities, not only encourage the development of children’s language skills but also help them better understand words, build confidence in their abilities and inspire a love for language.

+
psychologist

The psychologist is an integral part of our community, spreading warmth and understanding of emotions. The same challenges faced by educators and parents are often shared, so the psychologist’s recommendations on child development, age-specific characteristics, emotional intelligence education, and other topics are particularly important and valuable. Every Eureka community family receives free child observation and family counseling each academic year.

Children's (self) evaluation

In Eureka students are not evaluated using standardized grades. Instead, school uses a multi-level assessment system. Children discuss their day with teacher during daily reflection sessions where they briefly talk about how the day went, what they enjoyed, and the successes or challenges they faced. Students are evaluated three times a year, involving all participants in the educational process: child, teacher, and parents. In the fall and at the end of May teacher conducts a detailed assessment of child’s progress and presents it to the parents. This assessment is based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Sport as well as Eureka’s educational concept.

In winter another child evaluation (conference) takes place at Eureka School involving teacher, student, and parents. During this live conversation child reflects on the past period, identifies achievements and decides on future goals.
